I'm considering doing interior in my mustang. I have half a brain and don't think iti should be too tough. I'm planning on buying upholstrey covers and foam. Are there any tricks or something I should know?

    mustang seats

In the factory we sometimes kept the seat material under heat lamps in the winter to keep them more pliable. Also after they were built we used a steam pipe, a 3/8 dia pipe that we slid under the cover and shot steam into the seat to heat it up and to make the cotton backing on the vinly shrink to pull out wrinkles if the steam had too much moisture it could collect inside and could cause mold to grow inside. you can try a hair dryer and a cotton glove so you don't burn your hand to work out the wrinkles 90 % will have them even with good quality covers, you just have to work them out. If the cushion foam is shot I would try to replace it. patching it will still look saggy after a while. The back foam isn't that critical. later mustangs used a j strip Chech out street rodder magazine they show putting in seat warmers, taking it apart and back together, Hog rings from the farmer's supply are different than upholstery hog rings,,,
farmers put them in the pig,s nose so he wouldn't dig holes under the fence with his nose...
makes you wonder where these kids that make the metal detector buzz were digging?.
