    mustang steering

Flex coupling, A.K.A rag joint. Can anyone explain the theory behind it? Why there are 2 bolts and 2 studs and the studs don't seem to engage, only the bolts seem to bear the load? Do they create a looser "feel" as they get old? I think I've maxed out adjustment in steering box and I still have a little play. Front end is all new and tight.
