    Exclamation Door Slammers

Ok well I remember a long time ago someone on here talking about a good book called door slammers and that it teaches you to build chassis or motors or something. Anyways I see a book here in JEGS cataloge that is a How To: Chassis Tuning from Door Slammers. Now I understand that they make more how to's I think? Any info on these and also it says how to build door slammer drag cars... What is a door slammer drag car, street legal car or what?

Thanks a lot for any info on this book and any info on how good it is would be great too.

Like Viking said, doorslammers are drag cars that have working doors to get in and out of the car as opposed to roadsters, funny cars and dragsters. Here is the book you are thinking of.....
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
It deals specifically with drag race chassis setup and tuning, not street cars.

Here's another source for hardcore drag setup. Chris Alston operates a shop called Chassisworks and offers these "how-to" articles.....

Didn't see you posted tech, thanks too. I am wanting to start to read up on drag cars, etc. I would love to build me a budjet type drag car or truck with a nice big block and have fun in it on weekends. I know I have 2 projects right now but it could be something to do in between and just something like a slow build and have it strictly for racing so not insurance to pay, etc. Only thing though is finding something cheap and something that is close by to buy and that is easy to find and easy to find parts for in general. I liked the Nova they did on Horsepower TV where the whole front clip was a glass body, etc. Now most likely a cheap car here like that would be rusted out so the front and doors would need to be fiberglass which would be good for a race car... Just would have to find a Nova for cheap which I don't think would happen.
