Wiring questions..
Ok i have a few questions, maybe someone can shed some light on an issue im having here. The car is 1971 monte carlo, whoever had the car before me cut the wires out and didnt tag anything, i got the car with no motor or tranny, i built a motor and built a trans and put it in. Well today is the day i am going to wire everything up and cant figure out what wire powers up everything in the passenger compt. meaning the fusebox to distribute the power throughout the column and the headlight and brakelights and such. basically what im asking is does anyone know about what wire or wires are the main power wire(s) and where its/theyre located? I am running a one wire alternator also its not the old one thats using the voltage regulator. i figured id ask before i go and start following every last wire. Thanks alot,Joe

The public library here in Springfield has a reference automotive section that contains wiring diagrams for most every thing made for the last 40 years. If you have a public library close it might have the same reference section.Ken Thomas

i belive on that BLOWN 502 MONTE there should be a fuseable link wire coming off of the bat. that goes to your alt. and horn relay, then it leaves the horn relay and go to the fuse box as the main hot wire. get the horn relay hot first and hoprfully the rest will fall in place. ive got a 70 chev. wiring diagram that im try to down load and if i can ill get it to you.Mike

Thanks, i was looking at the horn relay, its right next to the voltage reg. i am thinking that it will work out to be ok, i found the main wire that goes to the voltage reg. the battery wire i believe. im going to send power to it tomorrow after work. im hoping to fire this beast up here shortly. later,Joe
