Thread: Wipers and Gas Tank in Model A

I just found out that "my" "new" '30 Model A Tudor doesn't have windshield wipers, and only has a 12 gallon gas tank. Whoops ! ! ! Gotta do better than that. What have you-all found to work well and look good for windshield wipers in these cars. 2 speed with delay function would make me happiest. I don't plan on heavy duty bad weather driving in it, but sometimes you get caught. Same on the tank......I don't plan any huge cross-country trips with the car, but I do want more than 12 gal. Prefer 20 or more. What are my options for a gas tank ?? Thanks

Don't know about windshield wipers yet, but as far as fuel storage, I can give you my 2 cents worth. You won't be able to get much more than 14 gallons from any of the aftermarket tank manufacturers. If you want to have one made, you may be able to get more but not sure how much.

Somebody makes some side tanks that mount under the 'boards.

That would be Tanks and Rock Valley, they are 7 Gallons each. Still only 14 gallons.

Hey BIGLAR, nice lookin tudor!

I have used Macs autos tandem wiper setups on my rod and if you pardon my french they are "KRAP". The only parts I used of them were the chrome plated shaft and the free wheeling tandem mount. Both of which I probably could have made myself. The concept of tandem wipers I think is by far the most nostalgic. My inside unit is only a single speed but I am fairly confident there is now two speed jobs. The arms I used where off of a British MINI. They fit an unchopped A screen like they were meant to go there all I did was modify the arms a little bit. TOO EASY.
