    will a sbc bolt up to a 2.8l v6 bell housing?

    No.

    The guts are the same. Buy the small V6 bellhousing is "metric" while the large V6 and V8 are "standard".

    A good standard 700R-4 core is about $100 here. A metric is about $25. However, both cost the same to build.

    Are you talking automatic or standard? The V-6 5-speed will fit a V-8 bell.

    it's the 700r4. do i just switch the bellhousing, or do i need another trany? thanks for the help, chris.

    i hope i don't need a new one. i need one of the v6's for my wifes car, and the v8 for mine. i've got 3 of the 2.8L 700r4 trany's in the garage. please tell me there's a way to make the goofy thing fit behind a V8.
