Cherokee has a Dana 44 or a Dana 35 or a Chrysler 8.25
But you said it has disc brakes, which would mean you are talking about a Grand Cherokee.
In that case, it's either an Aluminum diff D44 - they break a lot in jeeps. Or a Dana 35
