get a '87-'95 F150 300 I6, fuel injection and they get fairly good gas mialage, my grandfather got 18 MPG with his '88 5spd 4X4 and with his '95 2wd auto, he gets 20-22 MPG. save the truck's brains and pick up the engine at most any junkyard.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
