How should '31 Ford stainless shroud mount to radiator?

I'm trying to piece things together as they were originally. Previous owner of my ride - a real "cobbler". When I purchased my ride, the shroud was tie-wrapped to the holes in the radiator. Now I know Henry didn't have access to tie-wraps!

Like to see some zoomed in pics, if anyone has them. Trying to document the details, and you guys always seem to have the info I'm looking for.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

If you are talking about the radiator shell, then there should be holes in the side of the shell that match up to the mounting brackets on the side of the radiator. Use stainless bolts and nylon locks nuts to attach it. This is assuming the cobbler used the correct radiator.

Duane - excellent point. The issue I'm having, is nothing has been documented, and I'm changing that.

If anyone has a photo of a true '31 Model A radiator mounting up to a true '31 Model A raditor shell, I'd love to see it.

Anyone have any idea how I absolutely identify which of each I have. I'm going to be ordering a new radiator shortly, so I want everything to fit properly. I'm assuming I have a '31 radiator shell, but maybe that's the issue. Mine has a little oval at the bottom that's painted - where I've seen some that are straight chrome or stainless down there. Maybe that will help.

    Thanks

    Dave

You might try posing your question on the website below. Perhaps someone can post a photograph.

Aster - first of all congrats on your acquisition, secondly - thanks for taking the time to post the pic! That pic helps out some, but would it be possible to show a close up of the area where it actually mates between the radiator shell and the radiator's frame - that's where I'm having the issue of things lining up.

    Thanks

    Dave

DJ. I don't have a closeup because my A is in pieces now. The best I can remember the ss cowl attaches with screws on the sides and bottom. Sorry I can't give you more details, maybe in another couple of months I'll be on the same page as you but for now that's all I can do. Good luck!
