V-8 Engine Swap
I NEED TO PICK SOME BRAINS! I AM WORKING ON A 1951 CHEVY FLEETLINE AND HAVE DECIDED TO GO WITH A 350/350 COMBO. I AM TRYING TO MAKE THIS AS ECONOMICAL AS POSSIBLE BUT ALSO SAFE AS WELL. WILL THE 350 BLOCK FIT WITH STOCK FRONT SUSPENSION OR DO I NEED TO CLIP THE FRONT END? ANY HELP AND INFORMATION IS GREATLY APPRICIATED!

You can make anything fit with a little creativity. If you feel the need to change the front suspension, many places sell Mustang II front suspension kits which will change the steering to rack & pinion. This would be a far easier conversion than cutting a frame in half.---Tom

The stock '51 suspension will work with a 350, its the same setup as 'Vettes had til 64, other than ball wheel bearings. Convert it to disc brakes and its good.
For sure!! I recall Jim's torsion bar suspension on at least one of his builds, but I'm not sure which one! Maybe the Track T?? He's a talented builder.
