    right gears

     



    im planning on building a 383 stroker for my 68 el camino and i want to get a posi rear end. my cousin used 3:73 gears in his, and my engine is gonna be pretty close to his but with more power. what gears should i use and why?

    we need a little more info......like

    what will the cars purpose be?(i.e. street driven, street raced,etc)
    What kind of trans?
    How tall of rear tires?

    street driven and raced everyonce in a while. th350 auto and the tires are 17"s

    Any gear you put in a dual-purpose car will be a trade-off between mileage and acceleration. The 3.73 is a good compromise.

    just wondering, but on a scale of 1-10 how hard is it to change out gears? been thinking about going up on mine.
