    stupid wheel spacer question

Ok, this is probably dumb, but I have a wheel spacer that is
made for multiple patterns. Since it has slots and not holes it
doesn't fit snuggly over the studs, it kind of just settles down
until the studs touch the tops of the slots.
Since it isn't perfectly centered won't this throw my wheel out
    of balance?
I'm just putting the spacer over the studs and then sandwiching it with the wheel over top of it. Am I using this right?

    wheel spacer balance

The wheel spacer is so light relative to the wheel & tire it won't affect your balance.
Plus since it's so close to the hub it doesn't have as much affect on the balance as weight being added to the outside of the wheel.
I used a little masking tape to hold my spacers dead center over the hub while I put the wheel on, just for piece of mind.
