    Mopar starter question.

I have a question.Does anyone know if there is a company that makes a Chrysler mini starter that can be rotated like the SBC and Fords. As you can see in the pic I have a slight clearance issue with the steering box,and the motor cannot be lifted any higher or moved over.I currently have less than 1/4 inch of clearance and I would prefer a little more.

Have you tried looking at different year starters? A friend of mine got one for a 90 somethin model Dodge Dakota v-6 that was smaller than the original one on his 72 Charger 340. That looks like a small starter on the car now, so I don't know what else could be done. Where did you get the starter you have now?

There are mini starters on the market. Here is a link from Mopar Muscle Mag. that writes on the issue.

There is a mini starter on the car now. What I am looking for is a starter that can have the solenoid and armature positioned vertical instead of at 45 degrees.Fords and Chevy's mini starters can be rotated at the mounting plate to be positioned at any angle, this is what I need.
