Arrow Maybe yall can help me here...

I know this isnt a hot rod, but I knew that you guys would be the ones who would know...

Ive got a 1969 Nissan Patrol I bought back in April. The rear axle and suspension was MIA. I found another rear end that will swap in from another truck with no problems. I found a set of leaf springs with the same dimensions, too. But the old Patrol uses 5/8" bolts in its suspension and the springs I got uses 9/16" bolts. The bushings are all rotted and need replacement. So this brings me to the question, where can I get leaf spring bushings with a custom ID as well as a custom OD?

    I have looked ALL OVER!!

    Thanks in advance, Jon

    How about...
since you have chevy springs, you should be able to get the chevy bushings. If the inside is too big (the outside goes in the spring, chevy should fit chevy...)you could use urethane bushings and drill them out - SLOWLY to 5/8. The urethane should be easier to drill than rubber. And teh urethane ones i have seen have no metal insert whereas the rubber ususally does.

Or try a spring 'distributor' (we have a few here that specialize in driveshafts, springs, big rigs, etc) and see what they can look up. Perhaps there is another year chevy that used either pibber bolts or a bushed inside where you could remove the bushing.
