    I want one of those

I have seen a carb mounted hoist...D-ring....brass knuckle thing for jockying the motor and want to know what exactly it is called and where do I get one. Seen a few on here in pics and never got around ta askin........WELL I AM ASKIN NOW! So Streets if you want to make me one o those i wont dislike you any more than Bob says he does now. Are they able to take the full wait o the motor and what kind of stress is that on the intake being so localized like that? Or do you not use that grapler alone?

I have seen what you speak of at swap meets, auto zone, advance auto parts, goes for about $6 available in steel and chrome.

Read abit about this years ago - the 4 intake/carb studs can hold about 15,000 poounds (or some other way high amount) so it can hold a big block all iron motor with ease.

Whatta ya mean "BIG BLOCK" BOB says he dislikes me ??? Since when??? AM I GONNA HAVE TO APOLOGIZE TO HIM AGAIN?? sheesh!!
NAH, Just-in causin discension. I was mainly curious about all that wait being localized especially alluminum intake mani'. I hate shoehornin and have always pulled the quarters forward off. Theres usually lots of other stuff that could use attention while the motor is out anyhow. LIKE paintin the firewall again, yeah! There is no fear of warping the manifold?

Well Streets, I accept your apology again, what for, I'm not sure, but what the hey!!

I know Justin claims otherwise, but I still think he's down wind of North Beach.

BTW, some of those sling types run into the firewall before you can get the engine in position. The ones mounted to the carb studs, especially on an aluminum manifold, make me nervous.

You guys haven't played (much) with the newer FWD cars, huh? Motors come out the BOTTOM on many of them...cradle and all (that would be subframe to some).

I haven't done one without a lift -yet. not sure if it is possible...front suspension is apart, body gotta go high enough to clear the assembly that comes out.

    Ahhh, the good ol' days!

I've played quite a bit with Saturns. You can pull the engine/trans out of those cars through the top, have to use a tilter though.
