I know this don't go here, but this is where I spend 90% of my time so make an exception please....Gotta blow off some steam.

I went out for a sunday stroll and can't keep my lead foot off the floor and don't you know I was playing and my cooling fan flew apart at about 6000R's and gashed my HOOD and cut 4 rows in my radiator. I GOT A 4" GASH IN MY HOOD!!!!! I never liked fans that wasn't electric and I will never use them again. The manufacturer will hear it tomorrow. man that sucks! i had the same thing happen to my malibu a few years ago. except it was my water pump that came apart and the fan just went into the radiator, didnt touch the hood. look at it as a blessing, now you have an excuse to put a nice glass cowl hood on it.

Usually a fan that flies apart has been used to turn the engine over, inducing stress cracks. Seen it happen on tractors, trucks and cars. Then again, sometimes they just blow. And yes, I do get PO'ed!

I don't like those fans either. I never liked being around the radiator on an engine that had one of those fans when the engine was reved up for the fear of getting killed should the fan fly apart. I like my lectric fan also.

Wow! Big Ouch! That sucks the giant Hinny, there is no doubt why I love my electric fan now. Thats really too bad Camaro_fever68, I hope that you are able to repair her without too much expense.
