Introducing myself to these forums as an OLD "Newbie"!
Hello,
My name is "MR. 427 Chevy" as I am known here in this very small town on the banks of the Oswegatchie River in the Adirondack mountains. I am currently a widower, live in a house that is too big for me now, and have been retired since 1964. I live next to the Oswegatchie River and enjoy spending my days fishing in it, racing my and my only son's 1953 Austin 2 door sedan B/G when I can remember how to get to the track. I may or may not have anything to contribute to some of you fellas here but like the guy in the ads for the New York State Lottery says "Hey, Ya never know"! I just received my new car from the dealer down the road apiece and it was paid for with my grandchildren's inheirtance. I wish that they would put the old 427 Chevy in the newer cars though. Not gonna happen. I am very good at the computer and can surf on the internet just as good as my grandkids can also. So IF I can find something for y'all I would be happy to do so. As long as it doesn't have anything to do with a computer running the car. MR 427 ChevyLast edited by MR. 427 Chevy; 01-17-2008 at 10:47 AM.

Welcome aboard MR., sounds like big block Chev's are real popular in rural NY. I'm having trouble picturing a '33 Austin as a gasser. Can you post a pic for us? Gassers are real popular with some of us geezers on here.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Thankyou tree and uncle bob, Lots of people in the know in NY know what the BB Chevy engines can do for them thats why they run them. There is no substitute for cubic inches! If you can tell me how to post a picture on here I will. I didn't see any instructions so far and I have been looking too. Still finding my way around this place.

Posting a picture is a piece of cake. Use the "Post Reply" radio button below the last posting to the thread. That will take you to a screen with a number of options. Two boxes below the "Your Reply" box is the "Attach File" box. Click the browse button to find your jpg file on your drive. Double click that file and it will fill in the blank for attachment. Then just click the "Submit Reply" button, and it should go just fine. Preferably, the photo should be about 6"x4", or close. If your photo is larger hopefully you have an editing program to adjust the size.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Rusty Treekiller...
I can't find a post on rust by you...what cure do you need? I lives up here in salt country.
Western PA...in teh winter the avg nightimte tmep is 25 and daytime is 37...it freezes and thaws daily! No wonder our roads are hell. Lots of salt used here for deicing and snow melt.
What are you trying to de-rust?Chris

Welcome to Club HotRod "MR. 427 Chevy " Gene. Glad ya found us and like one of the others said, pull up a chair and sit a spell.
Did ya get Bob's instructions down ok? If not just let us know what ya need and we'll get ya going. We've all been thru it so its easy now but I remember when we first started on this site and some of the problems we all went thru. It just takes a little gettin' use to.
If you have a picture and an image editing program try croping the pic and then resizing it down to around 600w x 400h ppi with a resolution of about 72. That should make the pic file size a bit under 75k. It helps for all of us on these slow dial-up connections.
Again, Welcome aboard Gene!!

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
