disc brakes
Hi I was wondering if you could answer a question for me? I have a 1962 chevy step side and i want to put disc brakes on the front. and someone told me i could use a donor truck and transfer the front end from a ?-1987 and was wondering if that was true first off. also was wondering if a 1984 van would have the same front end as a 1984 truck because i happen to have a 1984 van that would make a good donor if this conversion will fit thank for your time.

I think the only difference are the rotor thicknesses. Make sure the calipers and rotor thickness work together. Try out the van and see if the hub fits, etc.www.streamlineautocare.com

I think the suspension is similar but the crossmember might be different,I have heard the complete front suspension from the 70s and 80s truck will bolt to the older trucks but I doubt the van crossmember will. Jeff
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
