Tail pipe cutting
I've decided to run my exhuast "open headers" and have the tailpipe run outwards just infront of the rear tires, underneath the door, but so that the exhuast will still flow away from the cab.
Thing is I'm not sure what type of tool to use to cut the tail pipe where I need to. I was thinking a heavy duty torch, but what kind would be best to get a fast, clean cut through the pipe??
thanks weylin-

Lol never though I would say this: A hacksaw just might make this fun...
haha, why not a cutting torch though? Probly to dangerous huh... especially if I accidently dropped it and it shot at my fuel line <_<!!!

Any tubing cutter or plumbers pipe cutter large enough to accept the tubing will work and give a nice square end. The only problem is that it will leave a very sharp burr inside the tubing that will cut you real bad if you don't file it smooth. Go slow a little at a time. Of course a chop saw will do it quickly also.Too old to care

Make it easy on yourself and use a sawzall. I did mine in 2 minutes literally. Cut's right through and clean. No need to use a torch and all that crap, just wastes time and makes it harder on yourself.www.streamlineautocare.com
If you wan't something done right, then you have to do it yourself!

As said before, a sawzall should do it. A torch on exhaust tubeing could be disasterous. Although you may want to use one in aiding the bending process when modding the exhaust route.Father and son working to turn a '64 Falcon into a street and track monster.
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
