    Custom lock switches...

I need some ideas for custom power lock switches. I bought a power lock kit, but it doesn't come with switches...and I'd sorta like something a little different...allthough cheap
So I says to myself, self I says...........
...turning around I noticed I wasn't there... so...who was I speaking to ? and if they didn't reply why didn't I ? That remains my greatest concern to this day

    lock switches

If you dont' want switches in your door panels, you can get a microswitch set from a Volvo 240. Either front door.

They are designed so that when the driver door (or passenger) unlocks, so do the rest. also, pushing your lock knob up or down locks and unlocks the doors.
Ensure that the path of least resistance is not you...

    just a suggestion..................

I was going to plum all my wires under the seats, And find a small switch panel out of a newer " throw away car" at the salvage. And put the switches on the lower front of the seats. "still easy to-get-to but hidden" . If your really crafty you could put them under the door pull or arm rest in the doors "I think dodge has some small one out right now, in its vehicles have'nt checked.", just haven't played with that one, to much. Tell me what you come up with.

    how about flushing them.......?

under your door panel skins , no one would know where but you . "just don't forget where they are". That would be real cool! cheap 2 if you can find some thing that would mount flush? & easy to keep clean ,without mak'in a noticeable "bump" in the interior.

    Thoughts..
center console (hiden, exposed, on the side, etc)
reed switch can be activated by a magent - yo can put that most anywhere hidden (i have seen them in exterior mirrors so you can get into teh car).

Neatest hing i think is the new caddy - NO KEY at all! You have a wireless transmitter and when you get so close to the car it unlocks. move away and it locks in 30 seconds. there is a starter button, no ignition key works on teh remote too. You can get this type of system for alarms, so the parts should be avalibale to make it work with locks. You can have the doors lock when teh car is in gear or when teh parking brake is off, most anything that can trigger a switch.

If you are just lookig for cool switches, grab a copy of a rod magazine (as in NSRA magazine, Rod and Custom, etc) and look at some of the ads for power windows and lock conversions -then check out their websites. Lotsa choices.

In honor of streets here is an answer, well, sorta

youse hooks up da headlite switch ta power antenna, the wiper switch for the horn, the horn does the radio, the radio the glove bax. Now HEAT give you low beam, PRNDL is teh heater fan speeds, the VENT will blow the horn...NOW no one can drives youse car and so no one can steals your car and ya need no locks.

I had a car with the column shift and a console shift (only 1 was hooked up). I laughed everytime someone tried to drive my car!

Yep, just looking for some cool switches, I saw that system in the new caddy. But all I need are switches.

I just wanted something a little different.

    Thanks
