    parts cleaners

I picked up a used intake and it is kind of dirty and a little stained. What have you guys used for cleaning aluminum parts that works. I don't want to media blast it, since that makes the parts kind of dull. I've used a bunch of different things, but none seem to work very well on aluminum.

I've always glass beaded my aluminum intakes. It doesn't exactly put a shine on them, but if you folow it with a good polish then you'll have something.

Media or glass is the best way I've found to clean them, but it does leave a cheezy-looking finish, like you've sprayed it with aluminum paint.

After blasting, I've powder coated them with color and they turn out real pretty. You might try a clear powder coat after cleaning. I've never done that because of what I said about the manifold looking like it has been spray painted.
