    I have a 89 gmc sierra with a 5.7 iam trying to get a knew egr solenoid and esc i called up my local car parts store they said there are multiple ones for my truck how do i go about and get the right one.

    You could take them off and go in and match them up, or go to a dealer with your VIN and have them look up the correct part no. Ive found the gm parts work better than some of the cheaper replacement parts. For customers with older cars I get modules,coils etc from dismantlers to get a better price. Hank

    Most of the applications with multiple part number listings are sorted by the build date of the rig they're going on..... At least that's how the NAPA books work.

    The only problem is that parts will vary by engine (and there may be 2/3 different 5.7's) and the actual part supplier. As mentioned, go to the GM dealer and have them pull the part number by VIN. It may be possible to get an AC/Delco part (GM aftermarket).
