    install a 454 in a 60 belair

     



    Looking to install a blown 454 in my 60 belair.it has the 348 now witha 350 trans.will the motor mounts need to be changed.

    Not the BB's Dave, they're different.
    Asphalt Kid...you will need to get some local help with that build unless you have some fab. experience, and lots of tools.
    I see that you are in Nokesville...is that the one in Va.?

    I believe Dave's right ont his hambiskit.

    58 and up Chevies use the same V8 frame mounts and V8 motor mounts. He would have to change the frame mounts (a bolt on ) only IF he was converting from a 6 to a V8.

    The only fabrication I've ever seen required is occasionally having to build a short spacer to place between the motor mount and block to get the engine to sit correctly.

    thanks jim.I do have a mig and Im good and doing fab work.Iput the 454 in my 55 but Im going to redo it so I thougt it might be fun to put it in the 60.Yes it is the Nokesville in VA .Lived here all my life.Its late and I have to be get to plow some snow thanks for the imput.im still trying to figure out how to reply Im new at this.

    Thanks Dave,hambiskit and mike P,Ill see what i have when i pull the 348 out.thinking about putting the 348 in my 55 truck for somehting different when i get it done.Hambiskit this is the nokesville in va.
