Excellent progress on the LS1 Studebaker this week
I have multiple projects going on at once on the LS1 Studebaker conversion. Finished up a major step this week, getting the transmission crossmember fit and welded. There are a few things I am relying on my good friends to help with, and the welding on the crossmember was one of them. My buddy Dennis dragged his MIG welder over the week and we went to work and "Got 'er done." I even did a little bit of the welding.
You can see all the steps of the process here:

Here's a picture of the finished product, before paint, which is the next step after pulling the motor out, again!
Another item I am relying on the skills and willing help of friends on is modifying the driver side header, hopefully we will have a final fit on that tomorrow.
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

For some reason the picture did not post, so I will try again.
Edit : Well I guess pictures aren't working, so check out the link in the initial post to see what we've been up to.

Feels good to make progress eh Pat? Lookin' good.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Wade,
I'm afraid my rig is not an example that will help you much. I have a narrowed '68 Nova subframe grafted on to the front of my Studebaker frame. You may be able to find some useful swap mounts at Transdapt
http://www.tdperformance.com/TransDapt.html
Click on Engine swap kits.
Also check with these guys, they have excellent suspension parts and list "Chevy Motor mounts available:

Hope that helps, keep us posted on your project. We love to see pictures!
