Flaring 3/8 Gas Line
Hello all - I am running 3/8 steel line (not Stainless) for my '46 Ford - should I single flare or double flare for the fittings? Many thanks in advanve - Charlyg

On steel line definately double flare.
Another tip, if your doing the end of a line that you are planning on slipping a rubber fuel line over, just do the first step for double flaring (i.e. use the die and start the flare). THis will give you a little "bulge" in the line with no sharp edges like the factory plares on the end of a steel line.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
