40 Ford pedals ?
I just got a disassembled box of 40 Ford clutch/brake pedal assembly. I figured it all out except the pin that holds the brake pedal to the actuator for the master cylinder. One end of this pin has a hole for a cotter/lynch pin the other end has a cut machined into it I assume to mount a spring or something. Which way does this pin mount? With the cotter pin hole towards the clutch pedal or towards the driveshaft? and what is the notch for anyways? This is one of those units that has the master cylinder mounted to the rear of the unit, facing the rear axle and mounted to the X member. Thanks.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
