Oldsmobile's phone will just ring and ring.....nobody is at home anymore.
What are you trying to decode? The VIN or the Trim tag?

I hate to break it to you, but Olds went out of business two years ago.
What's on the plate? Publish the info, and maybe someone can help.Jack

As you can see I really keep up on my current events. =)
here is the # I found on the inside of the door. I think its the trim tag.
568C7836
I haven't a clue about it. The only thing I can figure is that the first 2 numbers are the year. 1956. Anyone?Pauly

I just checked my book. It's not really a code book but it says your car was built in Southgate California and is a super88. The 568C denotes this. The 56 is of course the year. The 8 denotes a super 88. The 88 was a 7 and the 98 was a 9 . The C is what state it was built in. Mine is a 567M. A 88 2drhdtp built in Lansing Michigan. I don't have any other code information handy at the moment. Hope that helps a little. If you buy any cosmetic or sheetmetal parts, the 88 and super 88 are a direct interchange on most parts but there are a lot of differences between them and the 98 so many 98 parts wont fit. It is based on the caddillac platform and the 88 and super88 are based on the buick platform.

I searched on the internet and found 2 options about my car. One site said the super 88 came with a 455 big block and the other said it was a 425 7.0liter engine. Does anyone know which one is correct? Either way I am stoked about it being a super 88!!Pauly
