    S10 rocker panel repair

     



    ok so my S10 needs fenders doors and a bed but that i can buy however the rockers and the bottom of the cab under the extended cab windows are rusted out. i would like any and all tips on how to fix this. especially on the extended part of the cab (it starts from the bottom and goes up a bit)

    I bought one last week(85) and it sounds like yours is about as bad as mine. My 85 should have been 'laid to rest' about 10 years ago it's so bad. The only reason I bought it was that it came with extra doors,fenders and hood that are in great shape. The rockers and cab corners really should have new metal welded in. The wrecking yards have a good supply of S10's and all the autobody (patch panel) supply houses have replacement parts,well the ones here do so I figured it would be that way nationwide. Bad thing about it though,I hate to go to the junk yard cause 80% of those look better than mine

    yeah i got some metal from school. do i just trim out the rust and weld in the new stuff?

    From personal observations, rust repair on S-10's offers a lot of job security.......seems they never quit once they start
