side cowls
anybody have any ideas on how to mount side cowls on a 34 ford three window coupe so they can be easily removed?

It depends on how the hood top is attached. A simple way is to drill 2 holes in a 90 degree flange which is bent on the bottom of the side panel, facing in towards the engine. Take two 5/16" diameter stainless steel bolts and grind the heads off, leaving a nice tapered point. Drill and tap the framerail for the pointed bolts and install them with the pointed end up (add a drop of blue loctite) The pointed stainless bolts fit into the holes in the bottom flange on the sidepanel. Depending on how the top is attached, you may be able to do something similar at the top.Old guy hot rodder

huh? are you talking about cowl lights? There are factory holes in the cowl just above the belt line for them =P

Jeez, did I totally misinterpret the question? I thought the guy was talking about hood side panels. If cowl lights, then Uptown83 has it correct.Old guy hot rodder
