I know this is a stupid question, but its a part I am not going to use, and rather than throw it away I want to sell it to someone who can use it for a restore, and can't do that without knowing a little something about it.

    Thanks guys

Sorry Tim. I was trying to joke around with "Corvette64" about his "marzelvane" answer (which I thought was pretty funny). I don't recognize the part, but it looks like some kind of support. You might look the car over real close from top to bottom, especially in the trunk and engine compartment, to see if it looks like it fits anywhere. The rubber pad looks like something might rest against it. I've spent most of my time climbing over Chevys, and I can't say it looks like anything I've seen before.
