Anyone know what this is?
This would have been off of my 49 plymouth. It was in the trunk when I bought it. I have no idea what it is, All I know is I don't need it for my build so I want to sell it on Ebay, but I have no idea what it is,

Looks like one of those diurnal marzelvanes from a reciprocating dingle arm to me. Too bad it has been damaged by di-hydrogen monoxide.

That would be my guess, too.........but they are more commonly referred to as a "skim adjuster".

I don't weather to believe you or not HotRodPaint. I have never heard of a "skim adjuster". If that is what it is, what is the real name.
I know this is a stupid question, but its a part I am not going to use, and rather than throw it away I want to sell it to someone who can use it for a restore, and can't do that without knowing a little something about it.
Thanks guys

But what would a skim adjuster be doing in the trunk of a Plymouth? The only ones I have ever seen were for Chevys. But it does look like one.

It could be for a cheby, the car was loaded with extra parts. I got a total of 10 pistons that were in the trunk. So I think they were either using it for storage or planning on putting in an old chevy engine.
And what is a skim adjuster used for? and what exactly is it? I tried to google it and found nothing.1949 Plymouth Club Coupe Still in pieces.

OK thanks, I kind of thought that. But with old cars I was not sure. As I posted above it might not even be for this car as there were alot of extra parts stored in it. But I might just post it on ebay without knowing what it is, as if someone needs it they will know what it is.1949 Plymouth Club Coupe Still in pieces.

Yeah, sorry Tim. We wuz just having some fun with ya. It is some sort of bracket, but who knows what it could be for.
There is a category on Ebay for "unkown" items. Maybe try listing it in there.

motor mount!!
That is a front motor mount for a six cyl engine. The rubber piece has a hole in it? That bolts to the front of the engine just under the water pump! The other holes bolt to each side of the frame. If the rubber piece is pulled apart then the mount is no good unless a new different rubber can be attached to the frame of the mount.

Thanks, I just looked closer at it and noticed the mount on top (the rubber) is the same as a picture I found when searching for a flathead motor mount.
