    67 camaro good deal?

Hey guys, I am getting out of the import scene and into the muscle cars. I like the 67-69 Camaro's and found these two. What do you think, are they worth it? Both have no rust underneath, with fresh rebuilt good running motors.

The 1967 red one has a 350 with a little rust around the windows and door jams. (nothing through just surface) $13,900

The 1968 blue one has a small block 400. No rust at all. 15,000

Thanks for any and all help in finding a car worth fixing up.
    Here are some pics.

It will cost you more than the difference in price to fix the rust and paint. If the rust is in the jams and window openings, you may find it to be worse than you think.

just so u know, the red 1 is the '68 and the blue 1 is the '67, they discontinued vent windows for 1968 and the blue 1's got them, not the red 1. take whichever is the real SS, if they both are, take the blue 1.

I would go with the blue. as posted above fixing the rust on the doors would cost more than the 1100 difference, and I like the look of it better. When I was looking at camaros in the late 80s, it was a choice of rebuilding a 74 and a 69, when I started looking at the prices of the doors I needed to replace on both. I found out that almost any from the late 60s was an average of $350. Now with this being almost 20 years later and the cars being harder to find, I think the price would be alot higher. And then you would be looking at having to repaint the car or trying to match the paint. That will run into some $$ also. So with the prices that close, I personally would go with the Non rust.

I have a 98 Eclipse gst spyder now. Its pushing 300 hp/tq with 27 mpg. Thats about all I can say thats good about it. I am sick of putting $ into what is more of a kids car. It also goes down in value every year. Thats why I am looking in to this car. The muscle cars are much more rare and 300 hp on these cars is nothing. I just need a little help or guidence so I dont get ripped off. The blue car, does it look like it might be worth 15k? I have no idea if its an actual ss or not. I do know that it sounds good and looks great. No rust what so ever. Thanks for the help guys.

At the price Camaros are going for right now, you can't get a bad deal for less than 20 grand, even on a beater.

Both cars had solid floors and trunk, that was the first place I looked.

I really like the blue one, I just wanted to check with people who have nothing to do with this deal, (as in I like it a lot but dont want to get ripped off and he wants top dollar). It looks like a good deal to me but you guys would know better than I would.

As for 300 hp outta my eclipse. It came stock with 210hp. After a plie of parts inc. a 50 trim turbo I got it to 300 hp as well as 300 tq on pump gas. This is tuned on the rich side not to mention I am by no means an expert tuner. By talking to people who know my setup I should be putting 350 to the wheels on pump gas and 400+ with race fuel.

I rode in my buddys 500 hp. Mustang and liked it a lot. Plus I am starting a family and need something a little bigger. With a built block I could get my eclipse to 500 hp but it would be putting a lot more stress on it than it would on a LS1 so I decided to put my car up for sale and find a Camaro.

Heres the link of my car if you care. It has had a lot more mods since the picture but you will get the idea of what it looks like.

That is a nice looking ride... I am glad to see that you did'nt go with over-the-top graphics and a ton of bolt-ons... Just a nice clean looking modern Hot Rod... Good luck with whichever Camaro you decide to go with, both look like they would be a nice driver... I bet you will be quick to notice how much more attention you'll get driving a nice classic Camaro...
