Mike that is a great idea. But have you ever heard the expression "the grass is alway greener on the other side of the fence?" That is amply true. I keep thinking of getting a big road tractor with a car carrier and heading out west. However much better our cars are than yours, the west's are that much better. Seriously though,my uncle and I have been working at getting this done. We just bought a BIG 1960 GMC 7000 B model. Here's a site for those of you who have never seen one or can't remember them. http://www.6066gmctrucks.org/Bmodel.htm The one we got is huge. I stand 5'8.5", and the top of the seat bottom is at eye level. The thing has a V12, a 5 speed manual, 4 speed aux, BIG International rear end, and a long frame, along with a 4 speed PTO. The cab is shot, so we are going to cut up a 1960-1963 panel truck and make it a sleeper cab. With what frame is left, we will put a 5th wheel hitch and get a trailer. My uncle wants a flat bed, but I'm leaning toward a car hauler. I think his is a better idea b/c most of the cars we would be getting are broke down. You could do this, too. Or start with something a little newer.
