Looking for a performance engine shop near Sacramento
Hello all,
I have a '54 Chevy 3100 pickup with a 502 engine and Accel Super Ram EFI.
The engine sputters when you give it gas, sometimes followed by a somewhat loud misfire (I believe it's a misfire and not a backfire, but not sure). Then once it gets revving, it has lots of power.
It does this nearly every time from a stand still, or when in neutral (or when you're coasting and give it a lot of gas, even in higher gears).
I replaced the plugs about 200 miles ago (they were black and smelled of fuel) and just checked them again the other day and they are black again and covered in fuel.
I've had it in to a local shop, but they didn't have the equipment or experience to deal with the Accel unit. So I'm looking for a performance shop in the Sacramento area that could diagnose and do the appropriate tuning or repairs.
Thanks in advance.
