I believe the gears in a NP435 are: 6.69, 3.34, 1.66,1.00
The 6.69:1 granny gear in a NP435 is great for pulling stumps . . . but not for much else in a street driven truck. You'll essentially be installing a 3-speed.
I had one in a 53 Chevy pickup, and never used low gear.Jack

You ought to be able to sell that 435 to someone into 4 wheeling, and get something more suitable for your needs. Like Henry Rifle said, you'd be basically putting in a three speed. Besides, that thing is heavy - more than some good CR fours.

Four wheelers wont touch that tranny either unless it's for a stocker type truck for a guy on a low budget.... the thing is awfully tall too......too heavy too.....slow shifting too.... useless low gear too...... since the NV4500 came out, all the stick shift 4WD builders use the NV if they use a stick shift (serious 4wd is almost all automatics now)
