fuel$7/gal?hmm,turn to Alcohol for answers?
Getting the car ready after a long hibernation..I used to run Av-Gas when it was $1.87/gal.(albeit a long time ago)..but I cant find it anymore.
Methanol is $3/gal. Aside from re-jetting the carb & eliminating rubber fuel lines, would this be a viable alternative even given that I'll burn more (50%)?
or has anyone mixed Methanol & unl prem in a ratio that will give adequate Octane for 12 &1/2 to 1 comp.
Any input would be appreciated.

Methanol will support 12.5 to one just fine, if the quench, timing, and jetting is set to support it too.
Lots of the guys here in the "corn belt" are running E-85 with a little shot of E-100 blended in..... comes out to about 108 octane, supports a lot of compression at about 1/3 the cost of racing gas.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
