    Question Attachment!

I have a mustang radiator and a 28-29 Ford grill shell. Does anyone have a picture of a good way to attach yhe shell to my radiator brackets? Also what's a good idea for a stone guard for the shell. Just a beater put I want it to be made well, safe and look good.

My Son did this on his '29, and I bought him a brand new mustang 3 row to put in it. He had to make side brackets to go to the frame and connect to the mustang side mounts. Then he built an expanded metal screen to go in front of it to hide the mustang radiator (the mustang is much smaller than the original model a, so it shows up inside the grille and looks bad)

After all that, we tore it out and ordered a custom made radiator because he had a lot of work in the rest of the car, and we didn't want to cheap out on this part either. It really didn't look good, but if it is a beater, it will probably be ok.

The other consideration was cooling capacity. He has a 455 olds, so we thought it might not cool it. However, a lot of guys with rat rods are running this radiator, and say it cools a sbc ok.

Michael: I was going through my old pictures in my computer tonight, deleting some, and I found two pictures of the previous system my Son was using with the Mustang radiator.

The one picture shows the finished grille, and the other shows the screen he made to go in front of it to hide the mustang tank that was below the top of the model a grille.

    Hope this helps,

    Don
