    Chevy top hat frame

     



    Does my 51 chevy 3/4 ton have a top hat style frame? I have heard that the this style frame is subject to twisting and should be boxed. Does anyone know if I need to box it prior to installing a small block 350 in it?

    Chevy cars to 1954 have the hat section frame, the trucks all have a channel section. A 3/4 ton chassis will handle a 350 without boxing.
