Bolt pattern on 28 Chevy wire 6 lug wheels
I have a 28 chevy Pickup that has some funky stock wheels off some truck or another on it and it has a 5 lug rear end and a six lug front end.
A friend of mine said the original pickups had a 6 lug 17 inch wire wheel and that he had a set of those wheels he would sell me cheap.
He also said he ran into the same problem once and that the 6 lug rear ends out of Toyotas and isuzu's are the same bolt pattern as the 6 lug 28 chevy.
I looked at an isuzu pickup in a parking lot today and it did have six lugs and even though the guy thought I was odd let me measure it.
The axle width was dead on and the springs were one inch shorter and the bolt pattern seemed to be the same.
Is this possible?
I have no moral problem putting an isuzu rear end under my truck if it allows me to use the original wire wheels.
Has anyone else heard of this.
I neasured a Toyota as well and while the lug bolt pattern seemed the same as the Isuzu the axle was 2 inches wider.
I wore a camouflage T-shirt once. The response in the pub was "Oooh, it's a floating head!" .
