Collectability is subject to what you have on your hands and it's overall condition and originality. The GT350 package was a basic badge and stripe kit, nothing else special above and beyond the basic GT in either 4cyl Turbo or V8 forum.

Thnx ,I have one of the convertables in decent condition and mostly original!!!!Looks like there 5000 of 140000 cars that were 20th ann cars and outa those only about 2000 were convetable gt-350,i am happy for 300 bucks!!!The wires were all spliced and corroded and the former owners spliced some more wires ,when I got it ,it was past the point of diagnosis with normal equipment .Replaced almost all the underhood harness and it runs like top now!!!Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

some how i was lucky enough to get the car in question,
tow lean fee:$200
tweeker buys car
tweeker tries to fix car
tweeker sells car:$160
dad finds car, fixes engine,
dad gives car to son
end result:car #156 of 6000 made.
this is the car as it is now.
its a work in progress so stay tuned for an update later on.... lucky for me i know the owner of the tow company, he had removed the plaques before selling it, well i now have both the anniversay and the name plaque that came with the car originally.Last edited by Chrislee13; 05-24-2008 at 08:57 AM.

I've always loved those cars!! Great find!! I really like the dual snorkel air cleaner. What does it say on the valve covers? Are they factory original?? Anyway nice ride!! Good luck with it.

Dang it - I miss my '86GT T top. I sold it to a guy in '94 at 22K miles. He drove it on warm and sunny days, never in the winter. The car is still immaculate @44K miles - but unfortunately he passed away a couple of months ago and now it's tied up in an estate battle with his wife (separated, but still grubbing for the proceeds of his things) and other relatives.Dave W

Yup, stock original valve covers used from 82-85 GT's....Had two of the 1984.5 GT350 convertibles, one V8 powered like yours, the other the 4cyl turbo (pre SVO)...Your pictures bring back some great memories...

I guess if you continue reading posts all kinds of good info comes out - so now I know where my spare set of valve covers came from. Unfortunately they wont fit over my roller rockers without a $115 spacer so I have a pair of high 'no-names' on the engine for now. but......Dave W

Wow very nice thanks for the pics and info. My 88 GT had the plain ol aluminum VC's. That's why I was curious. Pretty cool tho!!
I'll bet Mustangs Unlimited or the likes has the stripe kits. If you can get the original or service part numbers I can have a bud of mine search the dealers inventory for an original stripe kit. You'd be surprised what he finds!

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
