whats the chances?
Running on the thruway at 65 when with no warning a loud crack, thud and coolent smell real quick. Stopped and found the water pump shaft had broken and sent that along with the pulley banging around myengine. Now you would expect some damage wouldn't you, but what's the chance of none except for the water pump????? None!!!! Don't know why it broke in the first place, it gave no hint of failure, but I'm glad I didn't have a mechanical fan on it or it probably be a different story.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Yep, a friend has a nice little '50 Ford with a flatmotor in it. He was going to some distant cruise (Pigeon Fork maybe ?) and the stock fan lost one blade. Looked like someone was trying to louver the hood and kinda messed up.
Maybe this is one more reason to run an electric fan on a hoodless hot rod.

If a guy showed up at the drag strip with a mechanical fan and no hood, we made him remove the fan before he could make a pass.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
