I was thinking the same thing, and they are really powerful little buggers. Easy to adapt by cutting the shielding tube to whatever length you need, and the motor mounts remotely.

What year VW's?

Beetles, in the '60's '70's. They might even be on Squarbacks. All the common bugs had these.

I don't, but someone else may on here. But it is a really simple setup. If you can envision, it has the two mechanisms that have the splined wiper posts on them, and they are joined together by a spiral cable that turns within a sheath that looks like steel fuel line, then one more piece of this fuel line tubing goes to the motor that is mounted away from the wiper posts. Hard to describe.

Nice thing is you can shorten the sheath to move the posts closer together, or put a longer piece in there to move them further apart, to match up with your car. It was popular to use these a while back on street rods. Look at any bug and you will see how simple they are. Oh, get the relay too, and switch, as bugs have goofy German wiring setups on them.

I had a '67 hot rod bug back in 1970. The wipers aren't what I remember about that car.

I do remember it constantly leaking oil and the pump-up windshield washer resivoir.

Jeez guy, I just realized I gave you a total bum steer. The wiper assembly I described to you is not VW, I had the system I mentioned on my Austin Healey Sprite. I was totally out in left field. (Old age is a bear sometimes )

The VW system is pictured below, and there are quite a few of them on Ebay all the time. You cut and weld the mount to the size of your spacing, and alter the arms and you are good to go.

So sorry for the misinformation. BTW, there may be other systems available in the aftermarket too that work just as well. This is only one option.
