    where to run my brake lines

     



    I have a 36 Chevy. I am using the stock frame that is a c channel style frame. I would like to know where should I place the line in the frame

    Its good running them on the inside of the c section, but personally I place the line on the top inside rail of the c section. Why ? because any mud or water that gets flicked up there falls to the bottom of the c section rail, and I have found that on some cars that when you get a big gob of wet mud on top of the brakelines it starts corrosion. Especially if the mud is left there and damp conditions prevail to keep the mud from drying out. I suppose it is one more reason to check under your car and to keep it clean.

    Oh and also this makes the lines easy to check as they are in line of sight when you are on your back looking up at them. We all do enough contortioning under cars at the best of times, rather than add to it.

    Yeah Denny, thats so much that happens in the Auto industry, their are roundabouts and tradeoffs you very rarely get perfect conditions.

    Mind you a big no no I saw on one car was the bleed screws on the front calipers were on the bottom = warrent failure

    Mind you a big no no I saw on one car was the bleed screws on the front calipers were on the bottom
    Maybe air goes down instead of up in the southern hemisphere? Or, more likely, some folks don't realize that calipers have a right and a left.
