    89 k2500 serpentine belt issue

hey guys i have a silly question. I have a 1989 GMC k2500 with a 350 in it. I just pulled and rebuilt the motor, attaching the accessory bracket now. I purchased a new belt that matches the used one coming off and I am having trouble with my length. I have alternator top right, p/s below it, a tensioner center above the water pump and the ac compressor top left. There is a bracket below the ac compressor that has me concerned, but I have all my parts accounted for..........or so I thought. Is there a pulley of some sort mounted below the compressor? I have about 4-6" extra, maybe enough there for an idler pulley. I do not have the secondary air injection belt which is longer, I replaced with the one coming off.
I know that this isn't exactly hot rod material, but I figure one of you guys may be driving this truck.

ummmm, sounds about right. Sometimes I encounter problems with my length as well.
Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

In all seriousness, the belt needs to come around the water pump pulley on the back side of the belt from the driver's side. So when you are facing the motor from the front of the vehicle, starting with the belt around the crank, the right side has to loop towards the passenger's side under the water pump pulley and then towards the driver's side immediately above the pulley.

Hahaha, I hear you Denny, but sometimes one can not switch to the V with length issues, then what?

hey guys thanks. I spent some time playing with the routing trial and error style. The sticker is gone from my shroud and my manual was about as vague as could be. Ended up with a combination that might work. I knew I had all my parts but frustration and the cold were setting in. I am hoping to fire it off this afternoon. I will let yall know how it goes.
