in my camaro with .510 lift and hydralic lifters, i never did. had it 10 years. i just went out mid winter and rotated the crankshaft 1 full revolution to let the other springs take a break. in my dragster .680 lift solid roller i did just because the heads cost so damn much and the extra lift hieght, i just figured i should.
Live everyday like it were your last, someday it will be.

Cool... I may do it for piece of mind but it got damn cold fast!! No heat in the garage means my finger tips will be frozen..haha. Thanks for the advice..
