Looking to hide a/c heater box....

Ok guys heres the thing. Im into real clean and simple when it comes to my rides. Im shaving the firewall on my S10 truck and Im swapping the brake booster to a hyrdaboost system and hiding it behind the dash. I also want to hide the a/c heater box behind the dash. Is there a stock a/c heater box I can use or am I going to have to fab something up? I would like to use something thats already made if possible, modifying it would be alright though. So anyone have any recommendations?

There are a lot of aftermarket units that mount under the dash. Street roders use them all the time. Vintage air is one that comes to mind.

if i was gonna move my heater and ac, i'd fab something up and put it in the bed of the truck and run it through the cab somehow. they make trunk ac unites i know. sure would help looks wise under the hood and dash.

could even put the hydra boost under the floor on the rails with a little work, granted, the pedal would have to come thru the floor also

CF - Ive seen the vintage air units and I really like them. They run a little more than what I was hoping to spend though. Thats why Im hoping to find something I could piece together with stock/junkyard parts.

lt1 - Do you know who makes the trunk mount kits?

Matt - Ive actually thought of doing that just like my 53, but my truck has a 3.5" stock floor body drop, so basically my frame rails are 3" tall box tubing so I dont think it will fit. But I havent actually gotten under there to see if it will work or not.

not really. i've seen them, but don't know if it was store bought or something fabricated. it dont take much heat or ac for a s10. i would think vintage air could tell you if they know of one i'd call them.

you can box in a heater core or ac evaporator with a fan blowing across it and have heat or ac. getting the hoses back there would be the trick.
