    Smile 1 wire hook up for gm alternater

     



    Ihave a regular alternater now and was given a new one tha uses ne wire, how is it hooked up? also i asked about steering box seal, just to say thank you about turning the steering wheel left to right, blow them right out. To easy Stephen Roy

    not sure what you mean about seal. One wire alternator simple the wire goes to the positive side of the battery any way you choose to get it there. Some go to the starter first others right to the battery.

    Yup, and use some heavy wire, like 10 gauge. Lots of amps travel through it.

    Yeah, Don is right deffinately use at least a 10gauge wire if not an 8...the bigger the wire, the better. Also make sure you use high quality connectors because I've had plenty of bad experiences with cheap connectors coming off after time. Gold plated connectors should work really good.
