Check your connections to your starter and battery. What kind of car is it? Could be a loose connection or corrosion.

Could be a lack of fuel tank vent......DonDon Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).

No, 910 said the car has no power as in electrical power. If your alternator were to fail, the battery would run the car. If your battery failed, the car wouldn't be able to start once you shut it down, but that wouldn't explain the complete power loss. I think it is a short circuit that drained all of the power your car could have produced for a few seconds, then maybe fried your alternator so you ran your battery down. Check the positive wire isn't rubbing on any exhaust components or that the alternator lead hasn't exploded on top of the engine, mine did. Just spliced a new piece of wire in and was good to go.

910,
Did the only the engine die or did instruments, lights, radio and all go off? Did it sputter? Again what kind of vehicle do you have and what modifications have you done to it? After you post all this info I still am too dumb to help you but there are a lot of sharp minds here who might. Good luck.

Hey Streets....It .may be that 910's listening to Willie's "Off The Road Again"...You know...The time he had Kenny with em singing about his loose wheel.....The cylinders have to be inline.!!!

Should folks who ask for help and then never return be included in your BMB thread, Streets?
