This can be easily done. you don't even have to remove the spindles. Just remove the stock steering arms, switch them side to side, and install them pointing forward. This gives you the correct Ackerman. A VW rack won't work, it's rear steer. Mustang will fit, but the bump steer is way off. A Corvette rack will work.
Be aware there is a bunch of frame in the way for mounting the rack in front.Anyone can restore an old car, it takes a man to cut one up
