Window Wiper Problem
I've or my wife has a 72 Corvette.
She turned on the wipers, now there is a door above the wipers that is supposed to open. Which did not,so when the wipers tried to come up they could not, So the wipers stayed active till the wiper motor burned out.
I've replaced the wiper motor twice thinking I had gotten a bad motor, when it would not work. I've now bench tested the new wiper motor, and it works fine on the bench. It is still not working in the car though. I have three wires one is dead or I suppose a ground wire, the other is low and a high volt wire. The motor its self has got a good ground to the car. The low,and high volt wires both have power to the plug that attaches to the wiper motor.
I have not attached the wiper arms to see if the motor spins, this way I am sure nothing is binding. When I turn on the wiper switch, I can hear a click but nothing else happens. I don't think the relay is bad or I would not have power up to the motor. Is there some thing else in there that I might need to replace or could the switch which works off of grounding the motor, have gone bad?
Thanks for any help. Kurt

Denny;
I'll have to check that since I removed the door to install the new motor.
I do know if the door would have been working right in the first place
I would not have this problem now. Thanks Kurt
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
